Lockdown activities – Week 11

Here are your lockdown activities for Week 11. It’s getting a bit easier to get out and meet with friends and family in a socially distanced way. Returning to School

If your little one is struggling with the idea of going back to school, maybe a story would help? Sophie is a play therapist, who knows just how important stories are to help children navigate the world. She’s wrote a story about staying at home at the beginning of lockdown, which has just been published on Amazon. She’s now written a follow up about going back to school. Kites

I’ve found a couple of simple designs, that you can put together with household items.
They’re not the kind of kite that’ll fly in the sky for hours but your little one will have great fun running around outside, with the kite flying behind them

Shadow drawing

When it’s sunny, how about doing some shadow drawing? Line up some objects and draw round their shadows. It works best if you do it at the start or end of the day so that the shadows are longer. After your little one’s drawn round them, they could colour them in and make a whole scene around them. This works really well with toy farm animals and dinosaurs.

Kitchen Disco

If it’s got to Friday and you haven’t had a kitchen disco yet, what have you been doing?!
Take it in turns to choose your favourite music and have a dance together. We use Spotify to create playlists every month, each of us choosing a track in turn. We’ve got some awesome playlists that everyone loves!
