Lockdown activities – Week 12

Here we are at week 12 and I’ve found some more lockdown activities for you. There are lots of creative posts this week, I’ve just been in that kind of mood I guess!

Royal Opera House activities

This one’s for school age children.

Tabletop Spinner

This is a quick fun project, but one that involves colouring as well as motor skills. Cut a circle from card, making a slot in the middle. Draw patterns and colour in. Push a one pence coin halfway through the middle slot. Spin on a tabletop and watch the patterns and colours merge.

Paper Helicopter

Paper helicopters
Another simple but fun craft for home. All you need is paper and a paper clip. I’ve created a printout with 5 cutout templates but you can also easily make your own.
You can see in the pictures below how to cut, fold and attach the paper clip.

You can decorate it too.
Once done, throw in the air and watch it spin as it falls.

Puffin Big Dreams Festival

I was a proud member of the Puffin Club when I was at primary school. They used to hold wonderful events in London and I got to meet Roald Dahl at one of them!
So I was very excited to hear about the Puffin Festival of Big Dreams, which is running this week from 8th – 14th June. There’s live on-line sessions with authors and illustrators and a chance to get involved yourself.

Isolation Art School

I discovered a wonderful instagram account (thanks to a blog by ArtSpring Gallery) called Isolation Art School.
It features demos and ideas for art making for both adults and children. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!!

Outdoor Sessions

In other news, I’ve started offering outdoor photography sessions. It’s been wonderful to get back to what I love best – meeting people and making memories for them. I wrote a blog about what makes an outdoor session special here:
