We’ve had some lovely week 3 lockdown activities for both older and younger children. It’s funny what you remember when your mind slows down a little. I dredged up an art activity that I used to have fun doing with the boys 10 years ago!
Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler have teamed up to reimagine some of our favourite characters coping with lockdown. This would be a lovely way to explain what’s going on to young children

They’ve also produced a booklet aimed at slightly older children. You can download it here:

Make an Easter Bunny
The wonderful Polly Had A Dolly, posted a great video explaining how to make a simple Easter Bunny. I love the dolls she makes so it’s great to get tips from her on creative projects

Draw a 3D Hand
I used to love doing this art activity with my boys, it takes a bit of time but is so effective. This one’s more of an older children’s activity but you could draw round your little one’s hands and do it for them – I found it very therapeutic! I did mine free-hand but using a ruler to draw the straight lines would be helpful.
Gratitude Activities
Catherine Nabbs is a counselor, she’s been posting activities on her Facebook and Instagram pages. There’s a round-up on her blog here

Photography Treasure Hunt
This Easter weekend, I thought it would be fun to challenge you to a scavenger hunt. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re isolating indoors or able to get out for a walk. Take a photo of each thing you find and tick it off the list. Have fun!
