Even though it looks like we’ve been in lockdown forever, I’m still finding lots of lovely new activities for you to do. I hope it’s bringing a little sunshine to your days.
Banana sushi
These look fun to make and great for little fingers to be able to help with

CBeebies Radio
In our house, we listen to the radio a lot. We like to have something going on in the background while you’re doing other things. Radio doesn’t demand your whole attention, so you can cook/draw/create at the same time. CBeebies Radio has lots of songs, stories and poems here:

The outline game
This is a fun game. Find objects around your house, draw round their outline and get your little one to put the objects in the right ‘holes’. You can easily make it fun for older children too by asking them to guess the shape first, giving them more objects than there are shapes or by hiding the objects round the house.

Penguins live
Penguins! When I went to look at 10 in the morning, the penguins were being fed ![]()

VE Day picnic
Today is VE Day
It’s also a bank holiday but who’s counting! So why not make some bunting, from paper or material. You could have a cream tea and invite your teddy bears and dolls along too. Here’s a great scone recipe. I’d love to see what you’ve been up to today.

Maternal Mental Health Week
This week is maternal mental health week (4th-10th May).
An important issue to highlight at any time but especially this year with the added concerns of the Corona virus. #LettersofLight is wonderful product, which anyone can join in with, to encourage and reassure other new mums. I believe in you.

If you’re pregnant and concerned about giving birth, Hannah Appelgren, a local doula and NCT practitioner, has written a blog about some techniques for staying calm. Let me know if you find it helpful.
