Here we are again! Has this week felt particularly hard? I’ve spoken to lots of people who’ve had a tough time this week, I hope you’ve been OK. Here’s a round up of my lockdown activities for week 9, I hope they’re feeling lift your spirits
Ask the Family

I’m pretty sure that lots of families have had time to sort through their photos while we’ve been on lockdown. My parents have been sending me photos of my dad when he was in the Navy, he joined when he was 18 in 1948 and became a Naval photographer. I thought I knew a lot about his past but this week I found out that he photographed Churchill, Eisenhower and Macmillan!!
Why not take time to ask your family about their history and record it, as well as collecting old photos. It’s a wonderful way to connect to your relatives, you never know, you might find out something amazing.
Giant bubbles!
We had so much fun making and playing with giant bubbles. We experimented with a couple of different recipes and ways of creating the bubbles.
I wrote a blog about how to make them, here:

Book about Coronavirus
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. It’s important to talk about feelings, with your children as well as with adults.
If your little one has been worrying about coronavirus, this is a great, colourful, rhyming picture book to share together. Read it here on-line

Childhood games
What games did you play when you were growing up?
I remember spending hours throwing two tennis balls against the wall singing “plainsy jim swallowed a pin” Anyone else??
How about cat’s cradles, french elastic, hopscotch? Teach your little ones how to play your favourite game and then spend time playing it together

Create you family tree
After my post at the start of the week, did you ask family members about their past? Did it make you want to explore some more? Why not make your own family tree.

Mental Health Awareness Week

We’re reaching the end of Mental Health Awareness week so I’d like to ask: What do you do for yourself? Is there one thing that you could do for yourself, which would make you feel more like you?
For me it’s being creative. Over the last month or so I’ve had great fun designing, making and printing linocuts. They give me great pleasure. It doesn’t have to take long but it does need to be just for you. I hope you can find something x
