Week 10 of lockdown and I still feel it’s important to try something different each week. So, to take the stress out of finding them, I’ve done it for you. I hope you enjoy my lockdown activities for week 10.
Puppets in Lockdown
There’s little funnier than a puppet, so when they are in a video singing together, it’s sure to raise a smile.

Learn a new language
It’s never too early (or too late) to learn a language. For example, I’ve spent the last 18 months learning Japanese via Duolingo.
There are some amazing language learning apps to help young children to learn something new and have fun at the same time. Check out:

Paper planes
It’s simple to make a basic plane from a sheet of A4 paper. You can create more complex ones too though, there are so many different designs. After you’ve made and decorated them, have a competition to see which one flies the furthest/fastest/highes

There’s lots of designs here:

Camera Obscura
Did you know that if you have a room you can black out completely, you could turn it into a giant camera obscura? All you need is a tiny hole in the curtains/blinds and the outside scene will be project (upside down and back to front) on the walls of your room.
I used to do this when I taught a pinhole photography workshop to local A Level students. Their amazement was so fun to see, when the outside world came inside.
Abelardo Morell spent years photographing the insides of rooms where he’d done just that. The images are magical.

Little Angel Theatre
I’ve just discovered that The Little Angel Theatre have a youtube channel with home puppet performances on it. I took the boys there in 2011 to see the Tempest and it was magical. They also have stories and creative projects. Definitely worth checking out
