Have you ever stood unnoticed as your child plays an imaginative game? Perhaps they’re dressed up or using a toy to act out a scene. They’re so caught up in what they’re doing that they don’t even see you. It’s wonderful isn’t it? I wish our imaginations had those chances more as we grow up. It’s one of the reasons I want to celebrate them with my new Superhero mini sessions.
A couple of months ago I had a family shoot and the young girl brought along her favourite outfit to be photographed in. I was surprised and delighted when she put on a batman costume and did some awesome poses for me. It got me thinking… What if I offered mini sessions where we did just that. Children come along with their favourite superhero outfit and I photograph them and add them into an amazing superhero background.

Fuelling imagination
Can you picture how you would have felt if your imagination became reality and you could actually see yourself in the world that was in your head? Just think how excited and empowered you’d be. In the future, your games would have an added element to them, one that reinforced that you could be whatever you wanted to be. After a year of disappointment and missing out, I truly feel that these sessions will bring some much needed adventure and joy into our children’s lives.

Photoshop experience
I’ve been using Adobe Photoshop for over 30 years. It was a very different programme when I started, pretty basic but still powerful. So many amazing tools and features have been added over time and I feel very lucky to have learned it as I went along. Because of this, I can turn my hand to pretty much any retouching emergency. I recently saved a friend’s favourite school photo from years ago, which had been ravaged by mould. So, I feel very excited to be able to use my skills to add your children into some cool and exciting backgrounds.

Who are they for?
These Superhero mini sessions are for any child who is preschool aged and above. I’m happy to photograph toddlers and babies who can sit unaided too, but the range of images will be limited to what posing instructions they’re able to understand. There’s no upper age limit on who can come along, in fact I’d encourage parents to dress up too if they want to!
How does it work?
Book your session time via the link below and come along to my studio in Tonbridge with your child in their favourite superhero costume. I’ll photograph them in a variety of poses against a white background during our 25 minute session. As a children’s photographer, I’ve got plenty of experience in encouraging little ones into the poses we need. After the session the photoshop magic will happen! You’ll receive a gallery of 10 images to view. You get one digital image as part of the session price (£99). You can then buy more digital images at £20 each or all of them for £150.
