Hope mini sessions

I’m writing this post over a year after the first lockdown began in the UK to introduce you to my new Hope Sessions. Like everyone across the world, it’s been an anxious time for me and my family. We’ve worried about my parents’ safety, our sons’ schooling and my lack of business. I’m sure it has been for you too.

Extraordinary Times

We’ve also discovered new ways to connect with our friends and family. During Lockdown we’ve hosted an online Casino night with my nephews, played an escape room with friends via Zoom and had virtual dinner parties with our friends. I’ve also written more letters in the last year than the previous ten years!

Words and phrases we rarely used before have become part of our daily life: lockdown, quarantine, social distancing, self-isolating, key workers. We’ve begun doing things we’d never considered before, like clapping for the NHS, wearing masks and constantly using hand sanitiser. All in all, we’ve been living through extraordinary times.

As restrictions begin to ease and I’m finally safe to reopen my studio, I have been thinking about how easy it might be to slip back into ‘normal’ life. I am definitely coming out of this different to how I went in and I don’t want to forget that. This is what I want to capture with my new Hope mini sessions.

Hope Sessions

The rainbow appeared as a symbol of hope and togetherness right at the outset of lockdown. Most front windows sport a rainbow, be it hand-drawn or professionally printed. Along with thanking the key workers who’ve kept the country running for us and the toilet roll shortage, it’s one of the things that’ll stick in my memory when I look back on these times.

How can we hold on to this and explain them to our children in years to come? My Hope sessions are designed for you to bring together all those memories in a photography session. My goal is to commemorate the sacrifices people made during this time, celebrate the new connections we made with each other and remember these extraordinary times.

Hope mini sessions will be held at my studio in Tonbridge, Kent. The session is £40 and includes one digital image. Much like my Christmas mini sessions, you’ll be able to buy more digitals at a discounted price.
